Sonic as I see it.

Sonic and the Black Knight has been announced for the Wii. To truly understand the horror that this game will unleash upon the world, I recommend listening to the first half of 2P Start’s fortieth podcast.

Are you done listening yet?

As I see it, this is the beginning of a brighter future for the Sonic franchise. Eventually Sonic Team will create a game so terrible that even the Sonic hardcore won’t want it. Once the Sonic hardcore are disenchanted, there will be no one left to keep selling terrible Sonic games to.

Sega will then sell the rights to Sonic for $5 and a half eaten bagel. For 8 years or so the rights to Sonic will jump from company to company. Despite constant rumors or even official announcements, no one will make a Sonic game until the year 2018 when Sonic 4 will be announced for the Nintendo Dolphin (They will pretend that Sonic games stopped at 3.) It will be classic 2D Sonic style and thoroughly awesome.

Ray is a fine example of how this process is already in motion. The only question remaining is how low must the Sonic team go? Will Sonic and the Black Knight be the game that bursts the bubble, or will Sonic Team have to invent new, creative ways to suck? Only time will tell.
